To tile, or not to tile?
October 18, 2019How Often Should You Replace Your Kitchen Appliances?
November 7, 2019Remodeling your home is a lengthy process! From purchasing brand new home appliances, to finding the perfect new cabinetry for your kitchen, and even choosing a paint color that highlights your furniture, it can become very overwhelming. In order to help make matters as easy as possible, be sure to keep these 5 tips in mind for remodeling your home:
Set a Budget
Constructing a budget in the early stages of a home remodel is a great idea! If your goal is to spend more on home appliances than cabinetry or vice versa, then you’ll be able to start pulling prices and see a pretty close estimate of how much it will all cost. If you have no idea where to begin with the budget, then try to set a maximum of how much you’re willing to spend, and then start thinking about which factors are most important to your end vision.
Do Your Research
When it comes to remodeling your home, the internet is your best friend (next to a showroom associate, of course.) Research, research, research! Which appliance brands last the longest? What paint color works best with white cabinets? How long does it take to install new light fixtures? Make sure your information is coming from reliable sources, or outlets that you personally trust. Also, be sure to check out YouTube or different home blogs for some inspiration and advice!
Ask Questions
Our showroom sales staff has so much experience in the home appliance, lighting, and overall home design field. Feel free to take some time to check out our showroom floor where you can get all your questions answered to the best of our ability. We are also eager to give advice and direct you to the appliances or brands that we personally find reliable and dependable.
Make Lists
Which appliances do you plan on replacing? What items will you need to purchase in order to paint a room? Which tools can you borrow from a friend? Making a list (or multiple lists) is a great way to keep track of your thoughts and stay organized. Be sure to write down everything that you don’t want to forget!
Schedule it out
Home remodeling takes time and effort, and if you want things to go smoothly, then perhaps purchase a calendar and start planning out all the details. Be sure to plan for outages, such as water, in case you’ll have to shut it off for plumbing components. Also, factors such as shipping may pose a problem with items that you purchase online, so always be sure to leave some leeway in the schedule.
Keep in mind that a home remodel is tons of fun! Don’t let stress take out the enjoyable element because the end product will be totally worth it!
