3 Tips for Renovating a Bathroom

Often confused with remodeling, renovating a room in your home simply means restoring, repairing, or reviving it to a better condition. There are so many aspects to take into consideration when remodeling a bathroom such as the plumbing, storage, and overall budget. While there is a multitude of other factors to keep in mind when renovating a bathroom, here are three tips that we believe are some of the most important:

Keep It Simple

Bathrooms tend to be one of the smaller rooms in your home, compared to the kitchen, living area, and bedroom. As a general rule of thumb, the smaller a room is, the simpler it should be. Construct a plan before renovating your bathroom in order to prioritize tasks by importance. Bathroom renovations tend to be cheaper and easier than other spaces because experts and designers push for simplicity.

Think About Mirrors

A large mirror can make a small bathroom feel a lot more spacious and open! Interactive mirrors have become very popular because they offer lighting in addition to the reflection. There aren’t too many factors that go into selecting a mirror because it mostly just depends on the shape. It is important, however, to keep the frame of the mirror in mind. A frameless mirror can make the room feel bigger, while a mirror with a frame focuses more on design elements. Mirrors should be chosen based on how the size of the bathroom feels.

Choose The Right Lighting

Tastes in lighting vary depending on the desired style, color/finish, and shape of the lighting. The most traditional form of lighting seen in the majority of bathrooms is vanity lighting, placed right above the mirror. Although the most popular lighting in the bathroom is vanity lighting, there are a few more options depending on the bathroom’s design and layout. Pendant lighting, for example, is a great option if you have ample room in the bathroom (and high ceilings are a plus!) When choosing lighting for the bathroom, remember to keep things simple so you don’t cause clutter.
